Who's Behind Seedlist
Seedlist is waitlist and enrollment software for daycare directors — built small on purpose, priced flat at $59/month, and shaped by weekly conversations with the directors who use it.
The Founder
Seedlist is built by Ryan Varney, who founded the company after seeing how many childcare centers still run enrollment on spreadsheets, sticky notes, and memory. Every guide, tool, and state page on this site is produced under his direction, and the product itself is shaped directly by the directors who use it — from Blessed Babies in Nashville (Seedlist's first customer) to multi-site programs evaluating a switch from legacy systems.
There's no sales team and no demo-call gauntlet. When you email Seedlist, you're talking to the person who builds it.
How We Research and Verify Our Content
Directors make staffing and enrollment decisions based on what they read here, so we hold the reference content to a simple standard: every regulatory fact traces to an official source.
- State ratio and licensing data is compiled from each state's licensing regulations and administrative code, with the licensing authority and a “last verified” date cited on every page.
- Comparison pages name what competitors do better, not just what we do. If Brightwheel or Procare is the right fit for your center, our comparison says so.
- Product claims describe what Seedlist actually does today — not what we're planning to build.
- Customer stories are published with written permission, quoted verbatim.
Spot an error? Email [email protected] and we'll fix it — regulations change, and we'd rather correct a page than defend it.
What Seedlist Does
Seedlist keeps a center's waitlist in priority order, checks in with waitlisted families automatically so the list never goes stale, forecasts when classroom transitions will open seats, and gives parents a self-service link to check their own status. It's $59/month flat — no per-child pricing, no contract, no demo call required.
